We are the leading provider on the Côte-de-Beaupré for mandatory mechanical inspections of road vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 4,500 kg or more. Our team of certified mechanics is trained to provide inspections in compliance with all applicable road vehicle inspection regulations.
We also dedicate a mobile service unit exclusively to our SAAQ-authorized inspection services. For added convenience, we offer a turnkey solution that includes any necessary repairs performed in our shop following the assessment of your vehicle’s condition.

Scheduling an appointment is recommended to ensure prompt service. Upon arrival, please ensure that:
You have the vehicle’s registration certificate with you
The vehicle is unloaded to allow for a safe mechanical inspection
The vehicle is reasonably clean to ensure an accurate visual inspection. Excessive rust, dirt, snow, ice, or grease is not permitted
The vehicle is equipped with a vehicle identification number (VIN) plate, except for trailers with a net weight of less than 900 kg

Mécanique J. Clair is certified to offer the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP).
Owners of certain vehicles, including heavy vehicles, may be eligible to avoid mandatory periodic mechanical inspections by enrolling in the PMP through our qualified mechanics.
Preventive maintenance allows the mechanic responsible for your vehicle to inspect, modify, or adjust any necessary components if an issue is identified that could affect the vehicle before its next scheduled maintenance. Any required repairs or modifications must then be completed immediately or scheduled before the next maintenance service.
